Abstract:Mariborsko Kadetnico je leta 1856 dal zgraditi avstro-ogrski cesar Franc Jožef I. kot kadetski inštitut.

Title:MARIBORSKA KADETNICA AFTER FIRTS WORLD WAR
Abstract:Maribor Military Academy was built in 1856 by the Austro - Hungary Emperor Franz Joseph I. As an institute for cadets, it had been operating with minor interruptions until the end of World War II. At the end of war, the institute was extended with a lower non-classical secondary school and became a 7-grade military academy. Following the merger with the Kingdom of Serbia, the education process was limited, and in 1921 the Academy was renamed first the Technical School for Officers and then the Sub-Officers Engineering School. In 1937, the School was moved to Šabac and the only school left in the Maribor Military Academy was the Reserve Infantry Officers School. During the Second World War, the German Army took over the complex. In the communist Yugoslavia, the Yugoslav army units settled in this Military Academy, which thus became known as the Franc Rozman - Stane Army Barracks and operated as such until 1991. After the Slovenian War for Independence ended in 1991, the Yugoslav People's Army (JLA) left the premises, and the Military Academy had been abandoned for many years. In 2002, The Slovenian Army launched its renovation, which was completed in 2009. Currently, the Doctrine, Development, Educational and Training Command and the Military Museum of the Slovenian Armed Forces are both stationed in this building.
