Abstract:Diplomsko delo obravnava spolno vzgojo otrok v predpubertetnem obdobju otrokovega razvoja.

Title:PARENTS AND SEXUAL EDUCATION OF THEIR CHILDREN IN THE PRE-PUBERTY PERIOD
Abstract:My thesis deals with the role of a parent in the sexual education of children in the pre-puberty period. Through a questionnaire, a survey was carried out on a sample of 200 parents. With descriptive and causal - not experimental method of empiric pedagogical exploration, the care for their own awareness of sexual education of children, their behavior linked to sexual awareness, and at the same time, the exposure of their views on sexual education of children was closely examined. Nevertheless, the difference between the age strata of parents and stratum residence in their childhood was also included in the research. The results showed that most parents learned about sex outside their homes, among peers and in school, not in their families. When it comes to answering their children’s questions about sexual education, most parents are relaxed and have no reason for embarrassment. Talking about sex education is something that involves the whole family. Regrettably, many still believe that sexual education in pre-puberty period is unnecessary. The poll has shown that sexual education is becoming ever more present and is receiving more attention than it has in the past. When growing up, younger parents more often participated in a relaxed conversation about sex than elderly parents. At the same time it showed that parents, who were brought up in the city, also had a lot more relaxed and open conversations about sexual development and education than those who lived in rural areas.
