Abstract:Diplomska naloga z naslovom Jezik morale in moralna realnost se ukvarja z vlogo jezika pri ustvarjanju moralnih sodb. Podrobneje predstavlja problematiko nekognitivnih teorij jezika ter poskuša ovreči njihovo temeljno tezo, da so moralne sodbe izraz čustev oziroma nekognitivnih stanj. Diploma v uvodnem delu predstavi nekaj različnih moralnih teorij, še posebej izpostavi teorijo zmot (error theory), ki služi kot osnova avtoričinega prepričanja. Nato predstavi razlike dveh teorij moralnega jezika, in sicer kognitivizma in nekognitivizma. V jedru predstavimo glavne ugovore nekognitivnim teorijam jezika. Na koncu pretehtamo različne možnosti, ki sledijo iz ovržbe nekognitivnih teorij in sprejetja teorije zmot.

Title:MORAL LANGUAGE AND MORAL REALITY
Abstract:The diploma thesis with the title Moral Language and Moral Reality is dealing with the function of language when making moral judgements. It presents the problems of non-cognitive theories of moral language and attempts to refute their main thesis, that moral judgements express emotion or any non-cognitive state. The dissertation starts with the introductory part explaining several moral theories. It places additional attention on presenting the error theory, which provides the foundation of author’s belief. Then I put forward two theories of moral language; cognitivism and non-cognitivism. In the central part of the thesis I present my main objections to non-cognitive theories of moral language. And towards the end, after I refute the non-cognitivist theories of moral language, I elaborate on two variants of error theory.
Keywords:moral language, moral judgements, metaethics, cognitivism, non-cognitivism
