Abstract:Diplomsko delo zajema področje korupcije v mednarodnem poslovanju. V njem predstavljamo definicije korupcije različnih avtorjev oziroma organizacij.

Title:CORRUPTION AS A BARRIER TO ETHICAL INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS
Abstract:The diploma thesis covers the subject of corruption in international operations. We present the definitions of corruptions according to different authors and organizations. The forms of corruption are summarized according to the Penal Code of the Republic of Slovenia. In the thesis we present corruption as a social problem causing economic, political, moral and environmental problems. We address the subject of corruption in Scandinavian countries and countries in transition and show where its impact on society is greater. Corruption is a widespread phenomenon, thus, many organizations deal with it: the United Nations Organization, the Council of Europe, the OECD, Transparency International and others. We present their most important research projects in the field of corruption and the ways to fight against it. We present corruption from the perspective of a manager and show advantages and pitfalls of corruption practices when a manager is in the marketplace. We define the notion of cultural relativism and highlight its importance for understanding corruption. In the thesis we recapitulate four specific current examples of corruption around the world; the Patria scandal (the purchase of armored vehicles for Slovenian Army), The Siemens scandal (the bribery in fixed telephony business), the corruption affair in Daimler-Mercedes (the bribery of state officials in more than twenty countries) and the oil industry case (the non-compliance of environmental legislation due to corruption).
