Abstract:Pri večini proizvodnih procesov je osnovna faza pri izdelavi končnega izdelka razrez vhodnih materialov. Slaba stran rezanja z laserjem so majhne debeline rezanega materiala in visoki stroški postopka. Slaba stran tega postopka so nizke rezalne hitrosti in višji stroški rezanja.

Title:Determination of optimal special procedures for material cutting
Abstract:Cutting of the input materials is the basic level of the final product manufacture in most of the production processes. We wish to achieve the best results in terms of attaining accuracy, high quality processing, high productivity and reduction of cutting costs. In order to achieve desired results we can choose between material cutting special processes – laser cutting, plasma cutting or water jet cutting process. There are many factors that can affect the selection of the optimal special cutting process. Therefore sound knowledge of specific special cutting processes is very important. Every cutting process has its advantages and disadvantages. For the purpose of this graduation thesis we explicitly analyzed cutting of the engineering and stainless steel and cutting of aluminium and alloys. All types of material can be cut by using laser. Using laser cutting technology enables high speed and significant cutting quality while the disadvantages of laser cutting are low thickness of cut materials and high costs. Plasma cutting is the cheapest cutting process enabling to achieve extremely high speed cutting also for thicker materials, but this process is limited to use of electrically conductive materials. This process reflects significant negative environmental effects. Water jet cutting is an environmentally friendly process that can be used for cutting all types of materials of high thickness. By using water jet cutter we can achieve high quality of cutting while the disadvantages of this technology are low cutting speed and high costs. Regarding all the analyses and other factors that affect selection of a cutting process I consider that the optimal special material cutting processes are the laser cutting and abrasive water jet cutting. Because of thicker material cutting possibility and concerning environmental aspects priority must be given to the abrasive water jet cutting process.
