Abstract:V letu 2009 je bil izveden poljski poskus, v katerem smo v posevku koruze proučevali fenologijo, tekmovalno sposobnost in odziv 8 tujerodnih vrst plevelov na zatiranje s herbicidi. Preučevane vrste so bile: Acalypha virginica, Ambrosia trifida, Amaranthus viridis, Amaranthus rudis, Bidens pilosa, Bidens subalternans, Iva xanthiifolia, Setaria faberi in Sicyos angulatus. Seme tujerodnih plevelov smo posejali v posevek koruze in nato plevelno populacijo poškropili (aplicirali) v dveh različnih terminih s herbicidi na osnovi aktivnih snovi dikamba, dimetenamid, izoksaflutol, mezotrion, prosulfuron, terbutilazin, tembutrion in topramezon. Učinkovitost herbicidov smo ugotavljali po standardnih metodah EWRS in EPPO. Pri večini kombinacij herbicid-plevelna vrsta smo dosegli učinkovitost višjo do 90-95 %. V primerih, ko smo dosegli učinkovitost nižjo do 90 %, so posamezne plevelne rastline uspele oblikovati manjše število semen do spravila pridelka koruze.

Title:Control of some new alien weed species of maize fields
Abstract:A trial was carried out in season 2009 to study phenology, competition ability and response to herbicides of 8 alien weed species in maize field. Seeds of Acalypha virginica, Ambrosia trifida, Amaranthus viridis, Amaranthus rudis, Bidens pilosa, Bidens subalternans, Iva xanthiifolia, Setaria faberi and Sicyos angulatus were sown in the maize stand and application of herbicides based on dicamba, dimethenamid, izoxaflutole, mesotrione, prosulfuron, terbuthylazine, tembotrione and topramezone at two different time periods to control developed weed population was performed. Herbicide efficacy was determined by standard EWRS and EPPO procedures. In case of most herbicide-weed combinations higher than 90-95 % efficacy of herbicides was achieved. When efficacy lower than 90 % was achieved, a small share of plants succeeded to develop seeds before harvest of maize leading to observation that seed production of studied weeds could not be hindered completely by application of studied herbicides. According to the observations of species phenology, competition ability and herbicide efficacy it can be concluded that all of studied alien weed species can be controlled to such an extent that extensive maize yield loss is successfully prevented. Because seed production of studied weeds was not prevented completely, those species might have ability to build slowly initial populations big enough to enable establishment of permanent populations of those species in maize fields in future.
