Abstract:	V magistrskem delu smo opisali lik in delo medicinske sestre kot nosilke perioperativne zdravstvene nege. Priprava bolnika na operativni poseg je zahteven proces, v katerem sodelujejo različni zdravstveni strokovnjaki. Delo operacijskega tima se združuje, dopolnjuje in prepleta. V magistrskem delu smo izpostavili pravico bolnikov do ustrezne in zadostne informiranosti s strani zdravstvenih delavcev pri bolnikih, ki potrebujejo operativni poseg. Potreba po pristni komunikaciji, poslušanju in razumevajočem odnosu do bolnika je ključnega pomena. Prav tako je pomembna aktivna vloga bolnika pri vključevanju in soodločanju o njegovem zdravljenju ter s tem povezano zagotavljanje zasebnosti, diskretnosti in varovanje poklicne skrivnosti, kar vpliva na kakovost celostne zdravstvene oskrbe. Metodologija raziskovanja. Raziskava je temeljila na kvantitativni metodologiji. Podatke smo pridobili s pomočjo vprašalnika zaprtega tipa. Raziskovalni vzorec je zajemal 95 hospitaliziranih in ambulantnih bolnikov, pri katerih je bil načrtovan operativni poseg. Dobljene podatke smo vizualizirali s pomočjo računalniških programov Microsoft Excel in SPSS, s katerim smo izvedli tudi statistično analizo. Uporabili smo hi kvadrat test. Rezultati. Analiza podatkov je pokazala, da bolniki ne dobijo zadostne informacije s strani zdravstvenih delavcev in da informacije niso vedno dovolj razumljive. Bolniki poiščejo dodatne informacije pri medicinski sestri in na internetu. Prav tako obisk operacijske medicinske sestre pri bolniku pred operativnim posegom vpliva na boljšo informiranost bolnika. Sklep. Bolniki, ki so dobro informirani in poučeni, imajo manj strahu, njihova stiska pred operacijo se zmanjša in bolje sodelujejo v procesu rehabilitacije. Zato je spoštovanje bolnikove avtonomije in etičnih norm izrednega pomena, ne samo v perioperativni zdravstveni negi, ampak v zdravstvu nasploh, na vseh ravneh zdravstvene obravnave bolnika.

Title:	A COMPREHENSIVE OVERVIEW OF AN OPERATED PATIENT FROM A VIEWPOINT OF THE OPERATING ROOM NURSE
Abstract:	In this Master’s thesis we tried to describe the point of view that analyses the image and the work of an operating room nurse as the operator of activities in perioperative health care. The preparation of a patient for a procedure is a challenging process which requires the cooperation of different health care professionals. The work of an operating team is constantly combined, supplemented, and woven together. In this thesis we focused on the patients’ right to suitable and sufficient information provided by health care professionals, especially when it comes to patients who need an operating procedure. The need for genuine communication, listening, and understanding is of key importance. A patients active role in his or hers treatment, regarding inclusion in the treatment, decision ─ making about the treatment, assuring privacy, and keeping professional secrecy, is also of key importance. All these issues are important from the viewpoint of assessing the quality of care a patient is receiving. Research methodology. This research was based on quantitative methodology. The data was gathered with the use of a closed questionnaire. The research sample included 95 hospitalized patients who were due for an operating procedure. We illustrated the gathered data with the help of computer programs Microsoft Excel and SPSS. We statistically analyzed the data using the Chi Square test. Results. The analysis showed that the patients were not getting sufficient information from health care workers and that the information received was not always comprehensible. The patients therefore try to get additional information from the operating room nurse or on the internet. We also discovered that the patients were feeling more informed after a visit from the operating room nurse before surgery. Conclusion. Well informed patients experience less fear, their pre ─ surgery anxiety decreases, and they are more cooperative during hospitalization. That is why the respect for a patient’s autonomy and ethical norms is crucial not only in perioperative health care, but also in all aspects of patient care.
