Gibalno dejavnost otrok smo ugotavljali z anketnim vprašalnikom o gibalni dejavnosti otrok. Telesna višina in telesna teža sta bili izmerjeni z uporabo standardiziranega antropometričnega instrumentarija (osebna tehtnica in višinomer). Iz telesne teže in višine smo izračunali indeks telesne mase, s pomočjo katerega smo otroke razvrstili v naslednje skupine: skupina z normalno telesno težo, skupina s prekomerno telesno težo in skupina z debelostjo.

Title:PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AND BODY MASS INDEX CONNECTIONS AT CHILDREN IN SECOUND CYCLE OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Abstract:A connection research between a motor activity and the Body Mass Index of children from nine to eleven years old is the purpose of my degree. The research was made on a 454 children sample of the second triad of Primary School. There were healthy 233 girls and 221 boys from various Primary Schools of North-East Slovenia in my research. The motor activity of children was found out through the questionnaire about their motor activity. Body weight and height of children were measured with standardized anthropometrical instruments (personal scales and altimeter). The Body Mass Index was calculated from body weight and height and then the children were divided into three groups: children with normal body weight, children with increased weight and overweight children. The differences in the motor activity between the three groups of children were found out with analysis of variance (ANOVA) and statistical significance of differences on a level of risk p<0,05. The differences were more precisely defined with Scheffe Posthoc Test. Results show that when children are not separated by gender, the differences in the motor activity between the children with normal body weight, the children with increased weight and overweight children are not statistically significant. The comparison of the motor activity between the three groups of boys is not statistically significant. The comparison of the motor activity between the three groups of girls is statistically significant in the motor activity with friends and this is between the girls with normal body weight and overweight girls. The motor activity with friends is more frequent at overweight girls. At comparison of the motor activity by the Body Mass Index the children have to be separated by gender if we want to find out some statistically significant differences. The way of life and the nutrition are also important factors which provide the differences in body weight, not just the motor activity.
Keywords:a motor development, a physical development, sports activity, increased weight and overweight, late childhood
