Abstract:Pričujoča diplomska naloga sestoji iz dveh delov — teoretičnega in empiričnega. Tu ilustracija in besedilo predstavljata enakovredni sestavini slikanice. Analiza in rezultati izvedenih učnih ur pokažejo, da sinhrona recepcija slikanice v primerjavi z recepcijo slikaniškega besedila brez ilustracij, učencem omogoča polnejšo in globljo izkušnjo in s tem konstruiranje celovitejšega pomena.

Title:SYNCHRONOUS RECEPTION OF PICTUREBOOK
Abstract:The present thesis includes a theoretical and an empiric part. The first one deals with the theoretical examination of a picturebook, where the picturebook is defined in its most authentic form called “plastic art and wording monolith”. The illustration and the text in this form are equivalent components of the picturebook. Through dynamics created by interweaving communication of two unique media – verbal and visual – new specific form of comunicating is created where information of two media is being receipted at the same time. The attainment of literary receptive purpose of the picture –book in its specific textual and plastic message is defined by our home and foreign didactics as well. On the basis of which the synchronous reception of the picturebook can be understood. It is supposed that synchronous reception of the picturebook makes (verbal and visual) experience more profound and fuller and that reception of any single part of the picturebook disables entire experience because of handing too little signals for constructing entire meaning. We also try this out in the second, experimental part of the present thesis. The experiment is carried out in two classes of literature with third grade children with the same picturebook (Quentin Blake: Green ship). Fundamental difference in these two classes is that synchronous reception of the picturebook is held in experimental group while in the control group the lecture is based only on reception of the picturebook text. Analysis and results of the performed lectures have shown that synchronous reception of the picturebook in comparison with reception of the picturebook text without illustrations, enables fuller and more profound experience to pupils and with this also construction of entire meaning. The picture-book is a specific form of art offering plenty of innovative ways of application also as part of lectures in the primary school.
