Abstract:Z namenom optimaliziranja gospodarjenja z dušikom s prezimnimi dosevki v njivskem kolobarju, smo v letih 2005 do 2007 izvedli tri eksaktne poljske mikroposkuse. V poskuse so bila vključena naslednja obravnavanja (prezimni dosevki): kontrola (brez dosevka); mnogocvetna ljuljka (Lolium multiflorum L.); ozimna ogrščica (Brassica napus L.); podzemna detelja (Trifolium subterraneum L.) in inkarnatka (Trifolium incarnatum L.). Dosevki so bili sejani konec avgusta in zaorani konec aprila naslednjega leta. V primerjavi s kontrolo, mnogocvetno ljuljko in ozimno ogrščico, so metuljnice povečale pridelek zrnja koruze, pridelek sušine celotne rastline koruze, vsebnost skupnega dušika v zrnju in v celotni rastlini koruze, medtem ko je bil vpliv mnogocvetne ljuljke v enem izmed poskusov glede na kontrolo celo izrazito negativen.

Title:Effects of winter cover crops on mineral nitrogen in the soil, nitrogen accumulation in plants and yield of maize (Zea mays L.)
Abstract:The main objective of our study was to optimise the nitrogen management in field rotation with different cover crops. The field experiments were carried out in years 2005-2007 with the aim to study effects of winter cover crops on mineral nitrogen in the soil, accumulation of nitrogen in plants and effects of cover corps on maize (Zea mays L.) as the next crop in field rotation. The experiments were designed as randomised complete blocks with four replications. The experiments included the following treatments (cover crops): control (without cover crops); Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum L.); winter rape (Brassica napus L.); subterranean clover (Trifolium subterraneum L.) and crimson clover (Trifolium incarnatum L.). The cover crops were sown at the end of August and ploughed in at the end of April of the following year. After a cover crop had been ploughed in, we planted maize, which we harvested at the end of September. Our results indicate that Italian ryegrass and winter rape reduced the amount of mineral nitrogen in the soil in autumn (before winter) and in spring (after winter) more than crimson clover and subterranean clover. However, crimson clover and subterranean clover accumulated higher amounts of nitrogen in organic form and they had a lower proportion of C: N than the other two cover crops. In comparison to other treatments, the legume species increased the yield and nitrogen content of grain and whole plant yield of maize. Meanwhile, the effect of Italian ryegrass was completely opposite in one of experiments.
