Abstract:	V diplomski seminarski nalogi predstavljam občino Sv. Martin na Muri, njeno kulturno, šolsko in cerkveno oziroma versko zgodovino ter gospodarstvo nekoč in danes. Zgodovina občine sega v rimsko obdobje. Rimsko naselje Halicanum se je nahajalo na področju današnjega Sv. Martina na Muri. Podatki o šolstvu segajo v 17. stoletje, v obdobje družine Zrinski. Danes je v občini osemletna osnovna šola brez podružnične šole. Občina je ime dobila po škofu Sv. Martinu iz 4. stoletja. Danes je najmočnejši del gospodarstva v občini turizem. Terme „Spa & Golf Resort Sveti Martin“ so postale zaščitni znak občine in so tudi mednarodno priznane. Občina organizira veliko srečanj in aktivnosti, ki so povezane z našimi prijatelji in sosedi iz Slovenije. S tem ohranja in spodbuja prijateljstvo ter druženje. Zanimivo kulturno društvo v občini so „Svetomartinski krampusi“ oz. Parklji. To je mlado društvo, ki ohranja starodavno tradicijo na dan Sv. Miklavža, 6. decembra. Predstavila bom tudi ostala društva, katera delajo našo občino zanimivo in atraktivno. Sv. Martin na Muri je relativno majhna občina, ampak moderna, odprta do drugačnosti, zanimiva in bogata z običaji in tradicijo, kar bom tudi predstavila v diplomski seminarski nalogi.

Title:	CULTURAL HISTORICALY PRESENTATION OF THE COMMUNE SV. MARTIN NA MURI
Abstract:	This degree thesis presents the community of Sv. Martin na Muri, its cultural, educational, ecclesiastical, i.e. religious history and its economy in the past and present. Historical reference of the settlement dates back to the period of the Roman Empire. The roman outpost Halicanum was located in the territory the present-day community of Sv. Martin na Muri. First records of a school system date back to the period of the Zrinski family in the 17th century. Today, there is an eight-year primary school in Sv. Martin na Muri, without any branch schools. The community was named after the 4th century bishop St. Martin. Tourism is the community’s dominant branch of economy today. The „Spa & Golf Resort Sveti Martin“ has developed into a trademark of the community and earned international reputation. The community has been organising a range of events and sports activities, welcoming also the participation of our neighbours from Slovenia with the objective of promoting and preserving friendly relations between two neighbouring countries. The recently established „Svetomartinski krampusi“ is an interesting culture association preserving the ancient tradition of St. Nicholas Day, the 6th of December. I will also present other associations that make the community interesting and attractive. Sv. Martin na Muri is a community that is relatively small, but modern, open to differences, interesting and rich in customs and tradition, which I will present in this thesis.
