Title:DIFFERENCES BETWEEN FEMALE AND MALE ENTREPRENEURS IN SLOVENSKA BISTRICA
Abstract:Number of companies run by women is increasing. Although this number is still smaller than the naumber of companies run by men. Accelerating the presence of women in entrepreneurship strengthens the economy, brings innovations in business and in the economic, political and social spheres. Differences between female and male entrepreneurs are in the various fields and at different factors. This differences are evident in the areas of support systems, resources, problems and obstacles, motivation, professional experience, education, personal characteristics, activities of companies. Stereotypes about woman's role only as a housewive are slowly changing and women are increasingly choosing entrepreneurship as form of their career. Many of them are very successful and they are looking for reasons for their success in their personal qualities such as self-discipline, persistence and hard work. Women need different incentives to enter in entrepreneurship than men. Measures to improve the situation of female entrepreneurs should be: improve the promotion of female entrepreneurship, establish programs and networks that would allow integration of female entrepreneurs and equalize opportunities between men and women in entrepreneurship.
