Title:	UGOTAVLJANJE POTREB SVOJCEV KRITIČNO BOLNEGA PACIENTA NA ODDELKU ZA INTENZIVNO MEDICINO

Abstract:	Ugotavljanje potreb svojcev kritično bolnih pacientov je v tujini pomemben del k družini usmerjene zdravstvene nege. V slovenskem prostoru problema potreb svojcev kritično bolnih pacientov še niso obravnavali. Namen magistrskega dela je ugotoviti potrebe in izkušnje svojcev kritično bolnih pacientov, ki se zdravijo na Oddelku za intenzivno medicino. Raziskovalna metodologija. Uporabljena je bila kvantitativna metodologija. Kot inštrument za zbiranje podatkov je bil uporabljen vprašalnik za ugotavljanje potreb svojcev kritično bolnih pacientov (Critical care family needs inventory). Potrebe so anketiranci ocenjevali s 4-stopenjsko Likertovo lestvico. Anketiranih je bilo 71 svojcev kritično bolnih pacientov. Podatki, zajeti z vprašalnikom, so bili statistično obdelani s programskim orodjem SPSS 17. Rezultati. Ugotovili smo, da sta za svojce kritično bolnih pacientov zelo pomembni potreba po gotovosti (3,74 ± 0,385) in takoj za njo potreba po informacijah (3,3 ± 0,442). Kot nekoliko manj pomembne so se izkazale potrebe po bližini (3,21± 0,506), podpori (2,61 ±0,559) in udobju (2,54 ± 0,507). Razlike med potrebami so statistično značilne (p=0,001). Ugotovili smo, da so med svojci kritično bolnih pacientov s krajšo in daljšo ležalno dobo razlike v dojemanju potreb, prav tako so razlike tudi med spoloma pacientov. Sklep. Z raziskavo smo ugotovili najpomembnejše potrebe svojcev kritično bolnih pacientov, ki se zdravijo na Oddelku za intenzivno medicino. Na podlagi rezultatov raziskave, bi bilo v Sloveniji potrebno pričeti z dodatnim izobraževanjem medicinskih sester, zaposlenih na Oddelkih za intenzivno medicino, s področja ugotavljanja potreb in nudenja ustrezne podpore svojcem kritično bolnih pacientov.

Title:	IDENTIFAYING THE NEEDS OF CRITICALLY ILL PATIENT FAMILY MEMBERS AT THE INTENSIVE CARE UNIT
Abstract:	Identifying the needs of relatives of critically ill patients is an important part of family centred nursing care. In Slovenia the needs of critically ill family members have never been established. The purpose of thesis is to determine the needs and experiences of relatives critically ill patients treated at Intensive Care Medicine. Research methodology. Qualitative methodology has been used. For data collection questionnaire to identify the needs of critically ill patients family members (Critical Care Family Needs Inventory) was used. Respondents were asked to assess the needs by the 4-points Likert type scale. 71 relatives of critically ill patients responded. The data colected have been statistically processed by SPSS 17 software. Results. Certainty (3,74 ± 0,385) is the most important need for criticaly ill family members and is immediately followed by the need for information (3,39 ± 0,442). As a slightly less important the need for proximity (3,21 ± 0,506), support (2,61 ± 0,559) and comfort (2,54 ± 0,507) were identifyed. The differences between certainty, information, proximity, support and comfort were found out as statistically significant (p=0,001). Differences in perception of needs were found among relatives of critically ill patients with shorter and longer duration of stay and between female and male sex also. Conclusions.The research findings state the most important needs of criticaly ill family members at the Intensive Care Medicine. Based on the results, we should start with additional education of Critical care nurses in Slovenia for identifying the needs and providing adequate support to families of critically ill patients.
