Title:ANALYSIS OF SUPPLY OF EDUCATION FOR ACCOUNTANTS
Abstract:SUMMARY The diploma thesis addresses the additional education for accountants which is necessary for accountants if they want to perform their work with high level of quality and consistent with the legislation that is changing all the time. On the basis of textual research ten providers of additional education for accountants and their programmes have been analysed in terms of prices, duration and location. It has been found in the research that there is enough providers of additional education and that the prices differ up to 30%. The cheapest provider among the analysed companies is the Institute for accounting where the lowest price of education is 118,80 EUR including value added tax. The average price of seminars including value added tax and without discounts is 197,35 EUR which is high so not all accountants can afford it. Most of the companies that are included in the research organise their seminars in Ljubljana and only three out of ten providers organise their seminars in other cities in Slovenia. During the time of research in January and February of the year 2010 the seminar about changes in the value added tax legislation has been organised most often which is not surprising due to the fact that new legislation entered into force on 1st of January 2010. The average duration time of seminars is 4,8 hours and most often they are organised between 9.00 am and 14.00 pm. We find that the average duration time of seminars is too short for the most areas of accounting which are very complex and can't be explained in such a short time. The final findings of the research are the following, the offer of additional education for accountants is sufficient and accountants need a lot of money if they want to participate in additional education.
