Abstract:	Udeleţenci v prometu zaradi nepoznavanja ali pa, ker se jim ne zdi vredno, vedno ne upoštevajo prometnih predpisov, zaradi česar prihaja do prometnih nesreč. Najbolj ogroţeni udeleţenci v prometu so otroci, zlasti na poti v šolo in iz šole domov. Pojem prometne varnosti med drugim zajema tudi varovanje otrok na poteh v šolo in iz nje. Dojemanje, vrednotenje in vedenje otrok v prometnih razmerah je odvisno od njihovih razvojnih značilnosti, zaradi česar se povsem razlikuje od vzorcev, ki jih imajo odrasli za samoumevne. Zato moramo nameniti posebno pozornost prometni varnosti otrok na šolskih poteh. V nalogi so predstavljene razvojne značilnosti otrok in njihova sposobnost vključevanja v promet, varnost otrok v cestnem prometu in njihova vzgoja. Podrobno je podana raziskava o stanju prometne varnosti v Sloveniji, raziskava o varnosti otrok v tujini in raziskava o ogroţenosti otrok v cestnem prometu v Sloveniji. Poudarek naloge je na prometni varnosti otrok in njihovi udeleţbi v prometu v I. OŠ v Celju, na ugotavljanju nevarnosti, ki povečujejo ogroţenost otrok na poti v šolo in iz nje, ustreznost novih ureditev v šolskem okolišu in določitvi ukrepov za odpravo opredeljenih nevarnosti oziroma za povečevanje prometne varnosti otrok. Zaključek naloge zajema usmeritve za realizacijo predlaganih ukrepov za povečanje prometne varnosti na šolskih poteh v okolici I. OŠ v Celju.

Title:	CHILDREN’S TRAFFIC SAFETY AND THEIR ATTENDANCE AT I. OŠ CELJE
Abstract:	Participants in traffic do not pay attention to traffic regulations, because they are not familiar of them or they do not care about them at all so therefore traffic accidents happen. The most endangered participants in traffic are the children, especially on their way to school and from school to home. The idea of traffic safety also includes looking after children on the way to school and vice versa on the way home. Children’s cognition, evaluation and behaviour in traffic conditions is very much dependent on their developmental features, which are very different of patterns, which adults take for granted. Therefore we have to pay special attention to children’s traffic safety on their school ways. In this assignment there are presented: developmental features of the children and their capability of entering the traffic, children’s safety on the road traffic and their upbringing. The research about traffic safety situation, the research about children’s safety abroad and research about children’s endangerment on the road traffic in Slovenia are written more exhaustively. The emphasis in this assignment is: on children’s traffic safety and their attendance in traffic to I.OŠ Celje, on determining the risks which are increasing children’s endangerment on the way to school and on the way home, on suitability of new arrangements of school neighbourhood and on setting the measures for elimination of defined dangerousness, or to increase children’s traffic safety. The conclusion of the assignment considers directives for realization of suggested measures in order to increase traffic safety at school ways in vicinity of I.OŠ Celje.
