Abstract:Podjetje Tajfun Planina, d. o. o., se ukvarja s proizvodnjo gozdarskih strojev.

Title:REORGANISATION OF THE STORAGE SYSTEM FOR FINISHED PRODUCTS IN THE COMPANY TAJFUN d.o.o.
Abstract:Company Tajfun Planina d.o.o. is engaged in manufacturing forestry equipment. Finished products are stored inside their warehouse in size of 450 m2, which was built in 2004. Unfortunately, this space which has been meant for the storage of finished products soon lost its original meaning. Nowadays it is used for the purposes of storage of finished products only to about 185 m2. In addition, the range of finished products in the company expands, which further justifies the fact that these premises no longer meet the requirements of the capacity. Furthermore these premises do not have any marked transportation routes and storage spaces. Renovation of the storage system has been carried out in two steps. Firstly, we examined the requirements for the long-term strategic plan of the company. Secondly, we tried to meet all basic requirements for optimal storage, picking and loading of finished products either onto truck or container. The basis for determination of these requirements is the flow and throughput capacity of the warehouse which depends on the needs of existing finished products as well as of new products that are only enforced on the market. The renovated warehouse spaces meet the anticipated requirements for the extension assembly lines and at the same time for the optimum conditions for complete warehouse management.
Keywords:warehouse, warehouse system technology, warehouse's flow capacity, throughput capacity
