Abstract:V diplomskem delu smo preučevali položaj žensk v procesu zaposlovanja. Želeli smo ugotoviti, kakšne so značilnosti zaposlovanja in dela žensk ter opredeliti vlogo ženske. V prvem delu smo uporabljali deskriptivne metode raziskovanja.

Title:STATUS OF WOMEN IN RECRUITMENT PROCESS
Abstract:In this thesis we studied the status of women in the recruitment process. We wanted to examine what are the main characteristics of employment and working conditions of women and the role of women. In the first part, we used descriptive research methods. We summarised the theoretical knowledge and theories on employment in general, the selection procedures and selection of personnel. We identified the employment characteristics of women in Slovenia and elsewhere in Europe and explored legal frameworks which protect women and ensure equal opportunities. We learned about the ways to provide equal opportunities in practice and discussed about family-friendly policies in companies. In the second part of the thesis, we presented the results of the survey on the situation of women in the labour market in Slovenia. For the purpose of the survey, we used a questionnaire conducted among 113 participants. Data were analyzed by statistical methods using SPSS. Hypothesis tests showed that we cannot say that finding employment is more difficult for women than it is for men. It also cannot be generalised that finding employment is more difficult for women with children than for those without them. On the other hand we confirmed the hypothesis that women more often face the discriminatory questions on job interviews than men. It was also confirmed that finding employment is more difficult for women aged over 26 than for those under this age. Also, we can affirm that women in comparison with men feel more strongly that the gender makes finding employment more difficult for them. The status of women in Slovenia in comparison with other European countries is rather good as the employment rate of women is above the EU average, as well as the results of our survey indicated that the situation of both women and men is similar when searching for a job. With a greater degree of awareness, stronger incentives from the government and the increased number of family-friendly measures in enterprises the current state could be further improved.
