Psihološki dejavniki zajemajo: spoznavne dejavnike učenja (umska sposobnost, kognitivna struktura, kognitivni stil), učne navade, učno motivacijo, emocionalno–osebnostne dejavnike učenja in socialno–psihološke dejavnike učenja.

Title:THE IMPACT OF PSYCHOLOGICAL FACTORS ON STUDENTS' ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE AT UM FOV
Abstract: Students are facing various problems which influence their academic performance. Nowadays the life is getting faster, the technology is rapidly progressing more and more knowledge is required. This is our motivation to investigate student’s academic performance. We focus on psychological factors, because we believe that they have the largest impact on academic performance. We investigated students of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, University of Maribor. We divide our thesis on theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part, we summarize five psychological factors, which affect students’ performance: cognitive learning factors (intellectual capacity, cognitive structure, and cognitive style), learning habits, learning motivation, emotional factors, and socio-psychological factors. Each of the factors is described separately and connection with students’ academic performance is established. We also explain some typical motivation factors which may contribute to the successful study. In the practical part, we analyse the data acquired with the questionnaire. The data was analysed with SPSS software (Statistical Package for Social Sciences). We interpret the results with the help of graphs created in Excel. We use Pearson’s coefficient to accept or reject our hypotheses. The main findings are, that first year students possess less learning techniques and habits compared to third years, and that third year students value good grades significantly higher than first years.
