Abstract:V diplomskem delu z naslovom Slovenska literarna zgodovina o slovenskem romanu po letu 1950 sem ugotavljala, katerim literarnim tokovom in smerem so bili predani sodobni slovenski romanopisci, kakšne so bile njihove teme in motivi, kakšno vlogo imata v romanih jezik in slog, vlogo pripovedovalca ter dogajalnega časa in prostora. Analiza zajema naslednje avtorje in romane: Ciril Kosmač: Pomladni dan (1953), Dominik Smole: Črni dnevi in beli dan (1958), Boris Pahor: Nekropola (1967), Peter Božič: Na robu zemlje (1968), Lojze Kovačič: Deček in smrt (1968), Vitomil Zupan: Potovanje na konec pomladi (1972), Marko Švabič: Sonce sonce sonce (1972), Miško Kranjec: Strici so mi povedali (1974), Andrej Hieng: Čarodej (1976), Marjan Rožanc: Ljubezen (1979), Drago Jančar: Severni sij (1984), Andrej Blatnik: Plamenice in solze (1987), Igor Bratož: Pozlata pozabe (1988), , Lojze Kovačič: Kristalni čas (1990), Feri Lainšček: Namesto koga roža cveti (1991), Andrej Hieng: Čudežni Feliks (1993), Berta Bojetu: Ptičja hiša (1995), Vlado Žabot: Volčje noči (1996), Zoran Hočevar: Šolen z Brega (1997), Feri Lainšček: Petelinji zajtrk (1999), Drago Jančar: Katarina, pav in jezuit (2000), Rudi Šeligo: Izgubljeni sveženj (2002), Lojze Kovačič: Otroške stvari (2003). Ugotovila sem, da vsak roman zase zastopa vsaj eno od sodobnih literarnih smeri in tokov. Jezik in slog pisanja sta v večini romanov sodobna in modernistična.
Keywords:sodobni slovenski roman, postmodernizem, modernizem, eksistencialna tema, realizem, intimizem.

Title:Slovenian literary history of the Slovenian novel after 1950
Abstract:My thesis entitled Slovenian literary history of the Slovenian novel after 1950 aims to explore which literary currents and directions contemporary Slovenian novelists were dedicated to, what their literary themes and motives were and what role language and style, the narrator and time and space of the story have in the novels. The analysis comprises the following authors and novels: Pomladni dan (1953) by Ciril Kosmač, Črni dnevi in beli dan (1958) by Dominik Smole, Nekropola (1967) by Boris Pahor, Na robu zemlje (1968) by Peter Božič, Deček in smrt (1968) by Lojze Kovačič, Potovanje na konec pomladi (1972) by Vitomil Zupan, Sonce sonce sonce (1972) by Marko Švabič, Strici so mi povedali (1974) by Miško Kranjec, Čarodej (1976) by Andrej Hieng, Ljubezen (1979) by Marjan Rožanc, Severni sij (1984) by Drago Jančar, Plamenice in solze (1987) by Andrej Blatnik, Pozlata pozabe (1988) by Igor Bratož, Kristalni čas (1990) by Lojze Kovačič, Namesto koga roža cveti (1991) by Feri Lainšček, Čudežni Feliks (1993) by Andrej Hieng, Ptičja hiša (1995) by Berta Bojetu, Volčje noči (1996) by Vlado Žabot, Šolen z Brega (1997) by Zoran Hočevar, Petelinji zajtrk (1999) by Feri Lainšček, Katarina, pav in jezuit (2000) by Drago Jančar, Izgubljeni sveženj (2002) by Rudi Šeligo and Otroške stvari (2003) by Lojze Kovačič. I have come to the conclusion that each novel individually represents at least one of the contemporary literary currents and directions. Traditional motives appear in some of the novels but in the majority of novels renewed, modernist and postmodernist motives can be found. One theme is common to all novels and that is the existentialist theme, human yearning for a better life is namely the only characteristic all the novels taken under analysis share. Contemporary and modernist language and style of writing can be found in the majority of novels.
Keywords:contemporary Slovenian novel, postmodernism, modernism, existentialist theme, realism, intimism.
