Abstract:POVZETEK Diplomsko delo z naslovom Zbirka matematičnih iger za predšolsko obdobje predstavlja uporabnost in pestrost možnosti izdelave in uporabe matematičnih iger v predšolskem obdobju.

Title:A COLLECTION OF MATH GAMES FOR PRESCHOOL PERIOD
Abstract:ABSTRACT The diploma paper titled A collection of math games for preschool period presents the applicability and variety of possibilities of preparing and using math games in preschool period. The purpose and aim of the diploma work was to present and describe a maximum number of different forms of math games that can be used when working with preschoolers as well as to study to which extent and in what way games as mathematical content can be used and interweaved in other thematic fields of preschool education (as defined by the curriculum). The final aim of the diploma paper was to prepare a modern collection of math games and actual examples of games that would be of use to Slovene preschool teachers. They can thus find tips and ideas for the preparation of various math games suitable for preschoolers at one place. The diploma paper was written based on studying different national and foreign authors. A method of studying written sources collected and formed by different authors based on their research was used in the collection of math games. The basic findings of the diploma paper are above all the following: math games are universally useful; games from the field of geometry and logics are less represented than games from the field of arithmetic; there are very few aims from the mathematical field in games; there are quite some different versions and types of math games that can be used already in preschool period; mathematical games can be interweaved in so to say every topic dealt with preschool children.
