Abstract:
V diplomski nalogi z naslovom Olivier Messiaen: Kvartet za konec časa je opisano življenje skladatelja, ornitologa, orglavca ter ritmika Olivierja Messiaena in njegov opus ter prevladujoče smeri glasbenega ustvarjanja 20. stoletja. Poglobljeno je raziskana in analizirana njegova skladba Kvartet za konec časa. V diplomskem delu so uporabljene deskriptivna in zgodovinska metoda, metoda analize in doživljajska metoda pri poslušanju glasbenega dela.

OLIVIER MESSIAEN: QUARTET FOR THE END OF TIME
Abstract:
In this thesis entitled Oliver Messiaen: Quartet for the End of Time the life of composer, ornithologist, organist and rhythmist Oliver Messiaen, his opus and predominant tendencies of the musical creativity of the 20th century are described. His composition Quartet for the End of Time is researched and analysed in great detail. The thesis includes descriptive and historical methods as well as method of analysis and experience method which is based on listening to the composition.
