Abstract:V diplomskem delu so predstavljeni samostani na Slovenskem ter njihove dejavnosti kot del slovenske kulturne zgodovine. Na začetku sem predstavila, kaj so meniški redovi in samostani ter nastanek samostanov. V nadaljevanju sem navedla redove na Slovenskem, ki sem jih razdelila glede na čas nastanka, spol in njihovo dejavnost, kot so umetnost, zdravstvena in karitativna dejavnost, šolstvo, gospodarstvo in znanost. Na koncu sem omenila še nekatere redovnike in redovnice, ki so pomembno vplivali na kulturno ter jezikovno in narodno zavest Slovencev.

Title:Monasteries in Slovenia as part of the slovenian cultural history
Abstract:In this diploma thesis I discussed the monasteries and their activities as a part of the Slovene cultural history. First I explained what monastic orders and monasteries are and their beginnings. Further on, I concentrated on the monastic orders in Slovenia. I organized them according to the date of foundation, gender and occupation, like art, health and charitable activity, education, economy and science. In the last chapter I pointed out some friars and sisters, who fundamentally shaped the culture and the linguistic and national awareness of Slovenian people.
