Title:ANALYSING FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AS A BASIS FOR PREDICTING THE FUTURE PRICES OF SHARES
Abstract:Shares are financial instruments with which we can trade on stock exchange. Supply and demand is reflected through listing of shares during some period. For investors, financial statements are the most important source of information at so-called fundamental analysis, meanwhile technical analysis is based on analysing trends and volume of a particular share. This kind of analysis is also based on graphical performances of some share listing and its price movement during a period. There are three different types of charts: first there is line chart, then there is OHLC chart, and a chart called ˝japanese candlestick˝. Annual report data is a crucial source of information, needed for successful analysis of a company, its financial condition and business perfomance. Analysts reshape the origin form of digits and, with the help of tools such as charts, mathematical calculations and formulas they combine them with their own commentaries and extra notes. They also use the balance sheet, the statement of income and the statement of cash flows. In this disertation we can see the comparison between Krka and Bayer. Krka is the Slovenian representative, who performed better and it is considered as a more flexible company in comparison with Bayer. The company was founded in Germany and is one of the leading global companies in pharmaceutical industry. Its business network is spread all over the world. Share prices are not only influenced by the macroeconomic conditions in the world, but also by main systematic risks, related to shares. For shareholders, there data about their dividends is also important, because it is significant for further expected prices of shares.
