Title:ANALYSIS OF UNEMPLOYMENT IN SLOVENIA
Abstract:Unemployment is macroeconomic phenomenon present in every society. The type of unemployment depends on the source of creation, that is how we know frictional, structural, natural unemployment etc. Unemployment is measured as a registered and ILO unemployment.. Slovenia faced with growing unemployment rate in nineties of the 20th century, when Slovenia became independent. We faced growing unemployment rate in year 2008 due to ecomonic crisis. The highest registered unemployment in Slovenia was recorded in February 2011, when the number of registered uneployment exceeded the number of 115.000 unemployment persons. Unemployment by gender in Slovenia is higher among women, only in years 2009 and 2010 unemployment was higher among men. This is due to bankruptcies of construction companies. By age young people are more often unemployed, but older people are also problematic group. By education the unemployment appeears more often to those who have lower aducation levels. The differences in unemployment also occur between regions. Slovenia is divided into the eastern part, where unemployment is higher, among these Pomurska region is the region, which has highest uneployment. And the western part, where unemployment is lower. In comparison with other EU members, Slovenia is among those who have lower unemployment rate.
