Abstract:V poznih osemdesetih in začetku devetdesetih let prejšnjega stoletja so ustvarjalci televizijskih programov iskali nekaj novega, nekaj razburljivega in nekaj, kar bo pritegnilo množico ljudi pred televizijskimi ekrani.
Keywords:Ključne besede: spolni stereotipi, množični mediji, analiza oddaj, resničnostni šov, Big Brother.

Title:Gender stereotypes in Celebrity Big Brother 2010
Abstract:In the late 80's and early 90's the creators of television programs were looking for something new, something exciting and something that will attract a crowd of people that were sitting in front of the television screens. That is how was born a reality television, a genre that consists of all other television genres and therefore it is called a hybrid. Television is not only an important source of information about events that take place at home and abroad, but it gives the viewer a feeling that he is a participant of this process, with the help of its picturesque and currency. In addition to providing information, television also provides educational and entertaining feature. It is important to stress its socialization function, which in addition to family, school and peer groups as an important factor in the process of formulating human personality. In the long term television and other media teaches us, who in the society is more or less worth, what is the generally accepted pattern of behavior towards different people, such as ethnic and social minorities and how should we behave as men and women. In my graduation thesis I analyzed presentation of gender stereotypes in reality show Celebrity Big Brother. Firstly, I prepared a theoretical framework where I summarized the stereotypes and prejudices related to gender and the basic features of reality show. In the empirical part of the graduation thesis. I looked at how and to what extent gender stereotypes are reflected in the analyzed broadcast reality show.Television is not only an important source of information about events that take place at home and abroad, but it gives the viewer a feeling that he is a participant of this process, with the help of its picturesque and currency.
