Abstract:	V diplomskem delu se bomo posvetili problematiki transporta živih živali v Sloveniji ter se dotaknili tudi poteka transporta v Evropski Uniji, katere del smo. Transport živali poteka v vseh prometnih sistemih, mi pa smo se posebej osredotočili na cestnega, saj se največ živali še vedno prepelje po cesti. Na kratko smo pregledali zakonodajo, ki jo je sprejel Svet Evropske Unije in jo morajo upoštevati vse članice EU. V Uredbi je predviden tudi nadzor pošiljk živali, ki ga Slovenija z uvedbo mobilne veterinarske enote dosledno izvaja. Pogledali smo si, kaj vse preverjajo pri nadzoru ter kakšne kazni doletijo kršitelje. Vozila za transport morajo biti primerno opremljena, tista, s katerimi se opravljajo vožnje, daljše od 8 ur, pa morajo imeti še dodatno opremo. Tudi živali se vse ne obnašajo enako, zato smo v diplomski nalogi opisali tudi različne vedenjske lastnosti posameznih vrst. Predlagali smo tudi nekaj rešitev, izmed katerih sta se kot najprimernejši izkazali dve. Prva bi bila uvedba mobilnih klavnic, ki bi lahko zmanjšale potrebe po dolgih prevozih, ki so najbolj mučni za živali. Druga pa bi bila transport mesa namesto živali. Ta bi bistveno pripomogla k boljši kakovosti mesa in mesnih izdelkov na trgu.

Title:	ISSUE OF ANIMAL TRANSPORT
Abstract:	This diploma thesis will focus on the issue of live animal transport in Slovenia and discuss the transport process in the European Union, a part of which we are. The animal transport takes place in all traffic systems, but we have focused on the road system, since the majority of animals are still conveyed by the road. We briefly looked at the legislation adopted by the Council of the European Union, which all EU members have to follow. The Regulation also provides for the control of animal shipment, which has been implemented consistently since the introduction of the Mobile Veterinary Unit. We discussed the range of examination during control and the penalties given to offenders. Vehicles used for transport must be properly equipped and if a vehicle operates for more that eight hours, it must be given additional equipment. Since not all animals behave in the same way, we also described various behavioural characteristics of individual species. In addition, we proposed a few solutions, from which two of them proved to be the most appropriate. The first would be the introduction of mobile slaughterhouses, which could reduce the necessity for long transports, which are very painful for the animals. The second solution would be the transport of meat instead of animals, which would greatly improve the quality of meat and meat products on the market.
