Posamezne regionalne ekonomske integracije imajo sklenjene bilateralne oz. multilateralne sporazume tudi z drugimi državami, integracijami in z drugimi organizacijami, predvsem tistimi v okviru sistema Združenih narodov.

Title:REGIONAL ECONOMIC INTEGRATION IN ASIA
Abstract:This paper discusses integration of economies in the regional economic integration, which is nowadays important for economies, for their development and progress, especially if the economy is small. It is particularly focused on regional economic integration in Asia, like the Association of Southeast Nations (ASEAN), Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). It is described their establishment and areas of cooperation. We found out that some regional economic integrations are more cohesive than others. ASEAN for example economies cooperate in areas such as the elimination of tariff barriers, agriculture, energy, finance, investment, tourism, telecommunications etc. Regional economic integrations have bilateral or multilateral agreements also with other countries, other integrations and other organizations, especially those within the United Nations system. Some of them have external observers, such as SAARC, whose observer is also European Union. The European Union has agreements with almost all of the above integration and with members of individual regional economic integration. Economies are associated mostly to ensure stability and security among countries, to facilitate trade between the signatories of the agreement, for common rules and sanctions in various areas, to preserve the environment, for fight against crime and terrorism, etc…
