Abstract:Diplomsko delo predstavlja raziskavo ravni cen prometnih in komunikacijskih storitev v Sloveniji, Avstriji, Nemčiji, Italiji in na Madžarskem. Drugi del pa obsega razlago metod za izračun ravni cen prometnih in komunikacijskih storitev in njihovo medsebojno primerjavo in interpretacijo opravljenih izračunov. V naši raziskavi cen so slovenske cene prometnih in komunikacijskih storitev dosegle 84 % raven avstrijskih cen, 76 % raven nemških cen in 81 % raven italijanskih cen.

Title:THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE PRICES OF TRANSPORT AND COMMUNICATION SEVICES IN A SELECTION OF EUROPEAN UNION COUNTRIES
Abstract:This diploma thesis is the study of the price levels of transport and communication services in Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Italy and Hungary. It is divided into two parts: In the first part, there is an analysis of economic developments in the selected countries. The second part includes an explanation of the methods used for calculating the level of prices of transport and communication services and a comparison and interpretation of the calculations. Gross domestic product per capita measured in purchasing power parity is most frequently used to measure the development of national economies. Germany, Italy and Austria are among the more developed EU countries. In the year 2010 Austria had the highest GDP per capita, which is 25 % above the European average, followed by Germany with 18 % and Italy, who’s GDP per capita was equal to the European average. Slovenia and Hungary are among the younger member states of European Union and their economic development is a little behind the countries that have been in the European Union for a longer period of time. In 2010, the Slovenian GDP, measured in purchasing power parity reached 87 % of the EU average and the Hungarian GDP was 64 % of the EU average. In our study of prices, the Slovenian prices of transport and communication services reached 84 % of the Austrian price level, 76 % of the German price level and 81 % of the Italian price level. Compared to Hungary, the level of prices of transport and communication services in Slovenia were 9 % higher than in Hungary.
