Abstract:Kronična obstruktivna pljučna bolezen (KOPB) pomembno vpliva na kakovost življenja in pojav depresije. Metodologija raziskovanja. Raziskava je temeljila na kvantitativni metodologiji. Uporabili smo vprašalnik SGRQ in PHQ – 9. Anketirali smo 70 pacientov s KOPB iz območja Maribora. Dobljene podatke iz obeh vprašalnikov smo statistično obdelali s pomočjo računalniških programov Microsoft Excel in SPSS 17.0. Rezultati. Odstotek celotnega zbirka točk vseh treh komponent (simptomi, aktivnosti in vplivi), kjer višji odstotek pomeni slabšo kakovost življenja, je v vprašalniku SGRQ 55,55 %. Najvišji odstotek predstavlja komponenta aktivnosti in sicer kar 80,70 %. Temeljna naloga patronažne medicinske sestre je edukacija pacienta o primerni telesni aktivnosti in ohranitvi socialnih stikov kljub fizičnim omejitvam in občutku težke sape.

Title:The quality of life and presence of depressive disorder in patients with COPD
Abstract:Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) affects quality of life and onset of depression. The goal of healing is not only the relieving of symptoms and keeping the disease from getting worse, but also improvement of quality of life. Community nurse has an important role in improving the quality of life and in detecting early symptoms and risks in developing depression. The aim of this research is the presentation of the role of community nurse in assessing a patient with COPD, with emphasis on quality of life and presence of depression. Methodology of research. Research was based on quantitative methodology. We used questionnaires SGRQ and PHQ – 9. Questionnaires were administered to 70 patients with COPD from the vicinity of Maribor. The obtained data was analyzed statistically processed with the use of computer programs Microsoft Excel and SPSS 17.0. Results. We determined that the quality of life of patients with COPD is poor. The total assessment in all three components (symptoms, activity, impacts) in questionnaire SGRQ is 55,55 %. The highest percentage, 80,70 %, is represented by the component of activity. Depression was present in 88 % patients with COPD. The results showed us linear correlation between quality of life and depression. Conclusion. More than 80 % of patients with COPD are showing signs of depression. Early detection and treatment of depression is very important. We found that the majority of patients think that physical activity is not safe for them. A fundamental role of community nurse is to educate patients about suitable physical activity and about preserving social contacts despite physical limitations and breathing problems.
