Abstract:	V diplomskem delu so predstavljeni zgodovinski mejniki v razvoju rimskega prava. Obravnavana so obdobja od ustanovitve Rima, rimskega kraljestva, rimske republike in rimskega cesarstva. Predstavljen je Zakonik XII plošč, ki je prvi pomembnejši zapisani pravni vir in je osnova za nadaljnji razvoj rimskega prava. Poleg tega so obravnavani rimski pravniki, ki so začeli delovati že v času republike, kasneje v klasični dobi pa so dodobra razvili rimsko pravoznanstvo. Na koncu so predstavljene tudi pomembnejše zbirke cesarskega prava, med njimi tudi Justinijanova kodifikacija, ki je izrednega zgodovinskega pomena, saj je v njej zbrano vse takratno veljavno rimsko pravo. Uporabljeni so viri in literatura so iz področja rimskega prava, uporabljeni pa so tudi podatki z določenih spletnih strani. V diplomskem delu je bilo ugotovljeno, da je rimsko pravo postavilo temelj sodobnega prava. Postalo je podlaga za razvoj modernega prava.

Title:	Historical turning points in the development of Roman law
Abstract:	My diploma paper introduces historical landmarks in the develompent of Roman law. There are discussed periods from establishment of Rome, Roman kingdom, Roman republic and Roman empire. It presents the Law of the Twelve tables, which was the first important written legal source and is basis for further development of Roman law. Beside that there are treated Roman jurists, who became active already in the time of republic, but later in the classical period they utterly developed Roman jurisprudence. At the end there are introduced some more significant collections of imperial law, among them also Justinian codification, which has a remarkable historical importance, because it includes all then valid Roman law. Used sources and literature are from the field of Roman law, but there are also used some data found on certain websites. In my diploma paper we established that Roman law appointed the basis of contemporary law. It became the foundation of development of modern law.
