Abstract:Metodo merjenja alkohola v destilatu vina z alkoholmetrom smo nadgradili z elektronskim sistemom.

Title:Temperature compensated electronic system for measuring alcohol content in wine distillate based on density
Abstract:The method of measuring alcohol strength of wine distillate with alcoholmeter has been upgraded with a use of an electronic system. It includes a proximity sensor that measures distance from the peak of alcoholmeter to the level of measured fluid sample and a temperature sensor that measures its temperature. The purpose of an electronic circuit build around a microcontroller is to convert the distance measure and perform a temperature correction. The final result, an actual alcoholic strength, is then shown on an LED display. The accuracy of the system was tested on samples with 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 % alcohol and at temperatures 15, 20 and 25 °C. In all cases measurements were compared to actual alcohol values. Based on the collected data we were able to measure the deviations from the actual alcoholic straight and perform temperature compensation. It has been concluded that the error of an electronic measuring system reaches up to 3,8 % in worst case and 0,1 % at best.
