Title:ANALYSIS OF EXTERNAL EXAMINATIONS (MATURA) QUESTIONS FOR THE SUBJECT BIOLOGY
Abstract:The beginnings of Matura date back to 1848, where the Matura exam was considered as the final secondary school examination, which was a condition for entry to university. In Slovenia, the first Matura with external examinations held in 1995. Matura is the exam at the end of secondary school operated by the candidates to study at university and range of knowledge that are important for the study. Taxonomy is a tool that helps systematically classify events according to certain principles. The taxonomy of learning objectives helps teachers in assembling, selection, analysis tasks for verification and in the planing and implementation of instruction. We used the taxonomy by Krathwohl of educational objectives and with its help determine the taxonomic levels in the matura tasks of biology and analyzed. The analytical results have shown us that in the tasks of matura questionnaires are in a much greater representation the lower taxonomic levels (memory, comprehension, application) than the higher taxonomic levels (analysis, evaluation, creation). We also found that the representation of taxonomic levels is affected by term of Matura, type of questionnaire and by combinations of term-questionnaire. Through theory, we also come to the conclusion that Matura has an impact on previous education.
Keywords:Matura, taxonomy, taxonomy by Krathwohl, term of matura, type of questionnaire, combination of term-questionnaire, year of implementation, the commission, the difficulty index, the index definition, previous education.
