Abstract:V magistrskem delu so predstavljeni posamezni dejavniki tveganja in njihov vpliv na zdravje ter na nastanek in razvoj bolezni. Sklep: Medicinske sestre/zdravstveniki imajo vsa potrebna znanja, kako zdravje ohranjati in ga krepiti. Študije kaţejo na razmeroma visoko prevalenco dejavnikov tveganja, zaradi tega je potrebno posvetiti posebno skrb, kako v tej poklicni skupini varovati zdravje.

Title:The presence of health risk factors among nursing staff
Abstract:In the master's thesis individual risk factors and the effect they have on health and the creation and development of diseases are presented. The issue of risk factors is presented epidemiologically among the general population and nursing care professionals. The purpose of the research was to evaluate the prevalence of risk factors on the health of nursing staff in one of the Slovenia's hospitals and to carry out a comparison between the individual groups of nursing care professionals and the general population. Research methodology: We carried out a transparent cross-sectional epidemiological research on 355 nursing care professionals. It was based on the self-evaluation of their health. The research was carried out with the help of the modified CINDI questionnaire from »Health monitor survey«. With a comprehensive set of questions we studied the presence of health risk factors among the respondents. We analyzed the data with various statistical methods. Results: We determined that there are lifestyle differences between the two genders within the nursing care professionals and also between registered nurses and the general population. We have come to a conclusion that working hours affect the selected lifestyle variables and that there are no statistical differences between the prevalence of risk factors in connection to the department where they work and the intensity of their work. Conclusion: Nurses have all the necessary knowledge on how to maintain and strengthen their health. Studies point out to a relatively high prevalence of risk factors and it is therefore necessary to pay special attention when trying to safeguard the health of this professional group.
