Abstract:POVZETEK IN KLJUČNE BESEDE Diplomsko delo temelji na večtedenskem zbiranju nagrobnih besedil z dvanajstih pokopališč (Bakovci, Černelavci, Križevci pri Ljutomeru, Krog, Kupšinci, Markišavci, Murska Sobota, Nemčavci, Polana, Rakičan, Satahovci in Veščica). Vsa nagrobna besedila so zapisana v 4. Posebej so obravnavani nagrobni napisi otrokom in mladim ter moje ugotovitve glede le-teh v primerjavi s podatki, navedenimi v strokovni literaturi.

Title:COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF EPITAPHS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MURSKA SOBOTA AND KRIŽEVCI PRI LJUTOMERU WITH AN EMPHASIS OF CHILDREN
Abstract:SUMMARY AND KEYWORDS This work is based on weeks of listing epitaphs from twelve cemeteries (Bakovci, Černelavci, Križevci pri Ljutomeru, Krog, Kupšinci, Markišavci, Murska Sobota, Nemčavci, Polana, Rakičan, Satahovci in Veščica). All epitaphs are described in chapter 4, focusing on epitaphs dedicated to children and young adults up to the age of 30. This work brings detailed analysis of epitaphs dedicated to children and young adults up to the age of thirty, analysis of epitaphs that contain the dual and comparative analysis between village and city (how many tombstones in rural and city cemeteries contain epitaphs, what the relationship between epitapsh and tombstone formulars is, whether tombstones with one or more epitaphs prevail…). 2033 epithaphs were analysed, and the results have shown that tombstones without epitaphs are more common, and that those with epitaphs on usually have only tombstone formulars, which, when compared to epitaphs, prevail in both rural and city cemeteries. Also in this work are presented customs related to death in above mentioned towns and epitaphs with inscriptions in the dual. I focused on epitaphs for children and young adults and compared them with data from literature.
Keywords:Keywords: cemetery, death, tombstone, epitaphs, grave, customs, epitaphs for children and young adults, …
