Abstract:Integrirani fotovoltaični (PV) sistemi predstavljajo z energetskega vidika novo smer razvoja stavb.

Title:THE POTENTIAL OF BUILDING INTEGRATED PHOTOVOLTAICS SYSTEMS
Abstract:From energy point of view, building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) systems represent a new direction in development of buildings. Combined with efficient use of energy, PV systems can convert buildings from energy users to energy producers. At the same time it should be noted that on average PV systems produce electricity that emits 30 times less CO2 emissions per kWh than the average global world production of 1kWh of electricity. In Slovenia we have quite good conditions for the use of BIPV systems despite average global irradiation in EU 25+5, since there is only a 10 percent difference in the annual yield of optimal and horizontal mounted PV systems. With full use of suitable surfaces for BIPV systems, Slovenia could produce around one third of the required electricity until 2020 with the use of solar power. This shows a great potential for BIPV systems not only from the technical and investment point of view but also from an ecological one.
Keywords:solar cells, solar power plant, integrated photovoltaic systems, the potential of solar power plant, solar irradiation, renewable energy, European energy policy.
