Uporabili smo kvantitativno in kvalitativno metodo raziskovanja. Posebno pozornost namenjamo trem skupinam duševnih motenj in sicer depresivnim, anksioznim in stresnim motnjam. Rezultati: Ugotovljena prevalenca duševnih motenj v Pomurju in njihova povezava z biološkimi in socioekonomskimi determinantami. Sklep: Anksiozne, depresivne in stresne motnje definitivno pomembno zmanjšujejo kvaliteto življenja in produktivnost v že tako socioekonomsko ogroženem Pomurju. Potreba po večjem vključevanju stroke zdravstvene nege v problematiko duševnega zdravja obstaja.

Title:MENTAL DISORDERS FROM THE VIEW OF PUBLIC HEALTH INSTITUTIONS IN THE POMURJE REGION
Abstract:Master's thesis consists of two parts. The first part is theoretical and is as such intended for theoretical references and for relevant European documents and strategies which represent the basis for the research work in the Master's thesis. The theoretical part defines the concept of mental health and mental disorders, more specifically, it describes the mental health in Europe, Slovenia and the Pomurje Region in particular, which is, according to the incidences of mental disorders, in detail researched in the research work in the Master’s thesis. The primary purpose of the Master's Thesis is to establish the prevalence of mental disorders with the help of epidemiological research and with the searching of links between biological and socio-economic features in relation to the incidence of mental disorders. The research findings create the basis for further planning of preventive activities in the Pomurje Region that will practically be implemented under the Cross-Border Cooperation Slovenia - Hungary "Mental Health" Programme Research methodology: It is the epidemiologic research. We have used quantitative as well as the qualitative research method. As the instrument in the research empirical part the research questionnaire was used. In this research work we have focused on the target population aged between 20 and 65 years that is the economically active population of the Pomurje Region, which creates the national income. Special attention is given to the three mental disorders' groups, namely, depressive, anxiety and stress disorders. Results: The prevalence of mental disorders in the Pomurje Region and their linkage to biological and socio-economic determinants has been established. Conclusion: Anxiety, depressive and stress disorders without a doubt significantly reduce the quality of life and productivity in the Pomurje Region, which is already socio-economically endangered. The need to involve the health care institutions in dealing with the mental health issues still exists.
Keywords:depressive, anxiety, stress disorders, socio-economic determinants, active population, the Pomurje region.
