Abstract:Visok krvni tlak je ena najbolj razširjenih kroničnih nenalezljivih bolezni, ki skrajšuje življenjsko dobo. Rezultati. Pridobljeni rezultati so bili presenetljivi, saj smo ovrgli obe postavljeni hipotezi. Sklep. Z dobrim poznavanjem dejavnikov tveganja in vedenjem o tem, kaj ljudje potrebujejo, lažje in bolje načrtujemo zdravstveno vzgojo ljudi, pri čemer so nam raziskave v veliko pomoč.

Title:HIGH BLOOD PRESURE – IGNORANCE IS ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS FOR THE PREVALENCE OF THE DISEASE
Abstract:High blood pressure is one of the most common chronic non-communicable diseases which shorten lifespan of patients. It causes a range of serious complications. These can be prevented with proper health education, which is one of the tasks of nursing care. Good knowledge of risk factors should be very helpful to us. In this Master’s thesis, the study focused primarily on the public awareness of high blood presure. In this Master’s thesis we had a research question: "Is it ignorance of high blood pressure a major cause for the spread of the disease?", and two hypotheses. In the first Hypothesis we said that more than 50% of surveyed does not know the dangers of high blood pressure and in the second hypothesis that more than 50% of surveyed doesn’t think of a high blood pressure as a disease. Research methodology. The study used a quantitative descriptive method of research. To confirm the research question, we used the independent student t - test. For the survey we administered questionnaire which included 27 closed-ended questions. Data were statistically analyzed using a program for statistical analysis SPSS 17.0 statistics and Microsoft Excel. Results. The results obtained were surprising. We refute both hypotheses. On the posed research question, we get the answer that ignorance is not a major cause for prevalence of the disease (p <0.001). Conclusion. With good knowledge of risk factors, behavior and knowing what people need we can plan better health education of people. And that is why research projects can be a great help when planning health education.
