Abstract:V diplomskem delu z naslovom Vpliv prekomerne telesne teže in debelosti na motorični razvoj otroka smo želeli na podlagi literature in virov ugotoviti, kako prekomerna telesna teža in debelost vplivata na motorični razvoj otroka. Opisali smo motorični razvoj otroka in njegove stopnje, pomen gibalne aktivnosti za razvoj otroka in dejavnike, ki vplivajo na motorični razvoj. Spregovorili smo o prekomerni telesni teži in debelosti otrok.

Title:THE EFFECTS OF OBESITY AND OVERWEIGHT ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN'S MOTOR SKILLS
Abstract:In the diploma with the title The Effects of Obesity and Overweight on the Development of Children's Motor Skills we wanted to find out, how overweight and obesity influence the development of children's motor skills. Our research is based on literature and sources. The children's motor skills development with its stages, the importance of physical activity which influences on child's development and factors which influence on motor skills development have been described. Overweight and obesity in children have been debated. We have searched the reasons for their occurrence and consequences on the field of the children’s motor skills. It has been established how overweight and obesity influence on motor skills development. We have researched the role of physical activity in the prevention of overweight in children, possibilities for their physical activities and we have also looked for organisations which help overweight children in Slovenia. Our research findings confirm the fact that overweight and obesity are increasingly spread among children. To prevent their increase one should take care for prevention, which should include healthy nourishment, care for regular physical activity, less watching television and sitting at the computer. Appropriate professional weight lossservice, which would prevent negative health consequences and lack of motor skills development, should be provided for children, who are already overweight or obese.
