Abstract:Rastoča konkurenca, hiter razvoj tehnologije, prenasičenost trga, večje zahteve trga, zakonodaja in posledice recesije vplivajo na konkurenčnost in obstoj distribucijskih podjetij ter organizacij. Da bi podjetja ohranila konkurenčno prednosti in zadovoljstvo uporabnikov je iskanje novih storitev in izdelkov, tehnologij in sistemov, trgov in distributerjev ključnega pomena. Pomemben dejavnik ohranjanja konkurenčne prednosti je optimizacija stroškov poslovanja (predvsem logističnih stroškov). Vozni park predstavlja in sestavlja večji del logističnih stroškov v distribucijskem podjetju. Pošta Slovenije d. o. o. pri izvajanju svoje osnovne dejavnosti prenosa poštnih pošiljk in paketov upravlja obsežen vozni park, kar predstavlja precejšnji del logističnih stroškov. Z uvedbo liberalizacije trga poštnih storitev je Pošta Slovenije izgubila »monopolni« položaj. Vedno več ponudnikov poštnih storitev tako ogroža konkurenčnost in prednost Pošte Slovenije d. o. o.

Title:OPTIMIZATION OF FLEET COSTS OF POST OF SLOVENIA LTD., BUSINESS UNIT NOVO MESTO
Abstract:Increasing competitiveness, rapid technological development, market oversaturation, increasing market demands, legislation and the consequences of the recession all affect the competitiveness and existence of distribution companies and organisations. In order for companies to maintain their competitive advantage and user satisfaction, the search for new services and products, technologies and systems, markets and distributors is of key importance. An important factor for keeping the competitive advantage is the optimisation of operating costs (logistics costs, in particular). The vehicle fleet represents and constitutes a major part of logistics costs in a distribution company. In order to obtain savings with its vehicle fleet, a company must focus on its management. Two of the options for reducing logistics costs in a vehicle fleet are to decrease the size of a vehicle fleet, and to begin outsourcing. In carrying out its core activity of delivering mail and consignments, Pošta Slovenije d. o. o. manages an extensive vehicle fleet, which represents a significant part of its logistics costs. With the introduction of postal services market liberalisation, Pošta Slovenije d. o. o. has lost its “monopolistic” position. An increasing number of postal services providers have been threatening the competitiveness and advantages of Pošta Slovenije d. o. o.
