Abstract:V diplomskem delu so predstavljene osnovne anatomske in morfometrične značilnosti skeleta lesne sove. V začetku je splošni opis osteologije, sledi osteologija ptičev in splošne značilnosti lesne sove. Glavni del diplomske naloge predstavljajo fotografije in izvedene meritve kosti, katere so nastale na podlagi štirih skeletov lesne sove. Kosti posameznih delov skeleta so fotografirane v različnih legah ter izmerjene različne vrednosti. Meritve kosti so navedene v tabelah pod fotografijami. Na fotografijah so morfološke značilnosti opremljene z ustrezno terminologijo v latinskem jeziku. Izpostavljamo, da v slovenskem jeziku problematika ni ustrezno obdelana.

Title:ANATOMIC AND MORPHOMETRIC SKELETON CHARACTERISTICS OF WOOD OWL, STRIX ALUCO (LINNAEUS, 1758)
Abstract:The thesis in my graduation study is based on anatomical and morphometric characteristics Wood Owl skeleton. At the begining, osteology is described generally, followed by osteology of birds and the general characteristics of Wood Owl. The main part of the thesis present images and measurements made on bones, which are based on four Wood Owl skeletons. Individual bones of the skeleton were shot in different positions and were measured from numerous sides. Measurements of bones are listed in tables below the photographs. The latter are accompanied by the appropriate terminology in Latin. Emphasized problem at this study was severe lack of literature in Slovenian language.
Keywords:Wood Owl, osteology, skeleton, bones, measurements, terminology.
