Abstract:Namen diplomske naloge je določiti izbrane hlapne organske spojine v pitni vodi. Pri določevanju smo uporabili tehniko HS-SPME/GC-MS za spojine z nizkim pragom vonjanja (geozmin, 2-MIB, IPMP, IBMP in TCA) na nanogramskem koncentracijskem nivoju od 2 ng/L do 40 ng/L in polarne hlapne organske spojine (MTBE, 1,4-dioksan, epiklorohidrin, 1,3-dioksolan in 2-metil-1,3-dioksolan) na mikrogramskem koncentracijskem nivoju od 0,2 μg/L do 4 μg/L. Pri pripravi vzorcev smo uporabljali HS-stekleničke s teflonskim tesnilom, v katere smo dodajali vzorce vode in NaCl. Rezultate vsebnosti izbranih hlapnih organskih spojin smo statistično ovrednotili glede na zahteve razvoja metode (linearnost, ponovljivost, meja določljivosti-LOQ, učinkovitost ekstrakcije, vpliv temperaturne pri ekstrakciji in vpliv dodanega NaCl). Rezultati so pokazali, da je analizna metoda uporabna za določanje izbranih hlapnih spojin v pitni vodi, saj so bili rezultati ponovljivi in znotraj predpisanega kriterija, razen epiklorhidrina, pri katerem mejo določljivosti nismo mogli določiti.

Title:DETERMINATION OF SELECTED VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS WITH GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY AND MASS SPECTROMETRY (HS-SPME/GC-MS) USING HEADSPACE TECHNIQUE AND SOLID PHASEMICROEXTRACTION
Abstract:The purpose of this diploma work is to determine the selected volatile organic compounds in drinking water. The HS-SPME/GC-MS technique was used for compounds with a low threshold of smell (geozmine, 2-MIB, IPMP, IBMP in TCA) at nanogram concentration level from 2 ng/L to 40 ng/L and polar volatile organic compounds (MTBE, 1,4-dioxane, epichlorohidrin, 1,3-dioxolane in 2-methyl-1,3-dioxolane) at microgram concentration level from 0,2 μg/L to 4 μg/L. After sample preparation HS-bottles with Teflon seals were used in which we added water samples and NaCl. The results of the levels of selected volatile organic compounds were statistically evaluated according to the requirements of the development of the method (linearity, repeatability, limit of quantitation-LOQ, extraction efficiency, the influence of extraction temperature and influence of NaCl). The results showed that the analytical method is useful when determining selected volatile organic compounds in drinking water, since the results were repeatable and within the prescribed criteria, except for epichlorhidrin where the limit of quantitation could not be determined.
