Abstract:
An assessment and operationalization of the concept of a sustainable air transport system is recognised as an important but complex research, operational and policy task. This paper represents an academic effort to properly address the problem of assessing the sustainability of an air transport system. In particular, the paper presents a methodology for assessment of the sustainability of an air transport system. This methodology is based on an indicator system related to particular dimensions of the air transport system's performance considered from the aspects of particular actors involved. Specific cases are selected to illustrate the application of the proposed methodology.
