Abstract:Diplomsko delo obravnava preventivne preglede otrok v predšolskem obdobju, njihov pomen in obseg. V njem so povzeti preventivni pregledi otrok po standardnem nacionalnem preventivnem programu izvajanja preventivnega zdravstvenega varstva na primarni ravni za dojenčke in predšolske otroke do dopolnjenega 6. leta starosti. Predstavljen je razvojni presejalni test Denver II Slovenija, cepljenje predšolskih otrok in vloga medicinske sestre pri preventivnih pregledih. Namen raziskave je bil ugotoviti, ali se starši predšolskih otrok zavedajo pomembnosti preventivnih pregledov, njihovega osnovnega namena, pomembnosti cepljenja, ali poznajo bolezni proti katerim cepimo predšolske otroke in ali poznajo namen razvojnega presejalnega testa Denver II Slovenija. Metodologija in metode dela. Ugotavljamo, da bo več pozornosti potrebno posvetiti seznanitvi staršev z boleznimi proti katerim cepimo predšolske otroke, in razlagi razvojnega presejalnega testa Denver II Slovenija.

Title:PREVENTIVE MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS OF PRESCHOOL CHILDREN
Abstract:This diploma thesis deals with the meaning and scope of preventive examinations of preschool children. Preventive examinations of children are summarized according to the standard national prevention plan of preventive primary health care practice for babies and preschool children up to the age of 6. The Denver developmental screening test II in Slovenia, preschool children vaccination, and the role of a nurse in preventive examinations are presented. The purpose of the research was to establish whether the children’s parents are aware of the importance of preventive examinations, their essential purpose, the importance of vaccination, whether they are familiar with the diseases which preschool children are vaccinated against, and with the purpose of the Denver developmental screening test II in Slovenia. Methodology and working methods. The research was based on quantitative methodology with the application of partially structured survey questionnaire intended for the parents of the preschool children who took part in one of the preventive examinations at the dispensary for preschool children at the Ljutomer Health Centre. Research results. The results of the research show that all the parents who took the survey agree that preventive examinations of preschool children are important, that they are well aware of the essential purpose of the examinations, they are also aware of the importance of vaccination; however, they are less familiar with the diseases which preschool children are vaccinated against, as well as with the Denver developmental screening test II in Slovenia. We assess that more attention needs to be put on the presentation of the diseases which preschool children are vaccinated against to the children’s parents, and on the explanation of the Denver developmental screening test II in Slovenia.
