V teoretičnem delu so predstavljene osnovne smernice pisanja strokovnih besedil, opredeljen pojem plagiarizma, njegove oblike in vrste ter načini reševanja tega problema.

Title:PLAGIARISM IN DIPLOMA THESES IN THE FIELD OF SOCIAL SCIENCES IN SLOVENIA
Abstract:My diploma project focuses on trends according to the presence of plagiarism in diploma projects in the field of social sciences in Slovenia. In the theoretical part are presented general guidelines for writing scientific texts, the term plagiarism is determined also its forms and varieties and ways of solving this problem. With the method of interviewing and analysing the specialized literature there was found out that sanctions the plagiarist has to face with are very similar at our and foreign faculties. In the main part of my diploma project the stage or so to say the volume of plagiarism was quantified with two indicators. As a first indicator was used the percentage of similarity that calculates the programme to detect plagiarism; as a second indicator was used the factor of plagiarism that was calculated on the basis of a detailed analysis of diploma projects in the field of social sciences. The correlation analysis showed a relative strong relation of both indicators. Through the empiric research we came to the realization that (1) the level of plagiarism in the period from 2004 to 2011 was considerably low on both Faculties of Economics in the context of the University in Ljubljana and the University of Maribor. (2) At the Faculty of Social Sciences in Ljubljana and at the Faculty of Arts in Maribor there were not noticed any trends of decreasing but on (3) these two faculties a lower level of the presence of plagiarism in general was realized in comparison to both Faculties of Economics mentioned above.
