Abstract:In the first part of diploma work Preparation for the oral final exam in Slovenian language the theoretical basis is being explained. We introduced the concepts, such as final examination, general final examination, professional final examination, preparation on general and professional final examination, final examination of Slovene language. The second part describes the research carried out by a questionnaire. Within the empirical part we emphasised hypotheses, which were either confirmed or disproved according to the results of the research. Our main intention was to introduce the preparation of the oral part of the final examination from Slovenian at professional and general final examinations. We searched for differences and resemblances within the manner of preparations, their successfulness, motivation at general secondary schools and professional vocational secondary schools. We processed the gained data and presented them within the charts and diagrams and supported them with our own opinion and evidences. We carried out the research at two different secondary schools. The basic goal was to emphasise the differences between general and professional final examination, therefore we chose a general secondary school and a professional secondary school. The research results are indicating, that differences within the preparation on final examination are appearing among the students of professional secondary schools and the students of general secondary schools. The students are not enough motivated, as well as not enough confident and reassured in their knowledge and success on final examinations.
