Abstract:Gospodarske razmere in sodobni trendi narekujejo trenutno gospodarsko in socialno situacijo v državi.

Title:FINANCIAL CONSULTING TO INDIVIDUALS AND HOUSEHOLDS IN DIFFERENT LIFE PERIODS
Abstract:Economic conditions and modern trends dictate current economic and social situation in the country. These influences dictate the country to increasingly shift from social foundations (health care, pensions, educational system and other social transfers) and leaving this burden to its citizens who, because of the recent history, in great majority still have the “socialist” way of thinking and expect help from the state in their everyday life. But unfortunately the current conditions are different and demand from an individual to provide for himself and his finances. Care for personal finances and their management became a necessity in our country as well. On the financial market an individual can choose among different investment alternatives and financial providers to secure himself a safe financial future. But which investment alternative is right for him at this moment and the given circumstances is hard to be recognized by an uneducated, “amateur” investor. Therefore it is recommended that an uneducated and financially illiterate individual seeks help with a financial adviser. Just as well as a choice of investment alternative must be well studied and thought-out, a financial adviser must be carefully, thoroughly and cautiously chosen in the initial phase as not all of them are professional, ethical and moral at their work. There are more and more merely sellers of investment alternatives for their own benefit and not the benefit of the client they counsel. A competent financial adviser who would accompany an individual through his entire “financial life” is supposed to be professionally educated in the field of finances and their management, licensed, independent from financial institutions, and should offer a variety of investment alternatives and be moral and ethical at his work. Throughout our lives we pass over to different life periods with their own specific characteristics giving individuals different needs, wishes, goals and a different view of the world. All these factors (age, gender, employment status, married state, health condition, financial situation, personal factors and other) have an important influence as to what needs an individual has in a certain moment and in the near future; therefore it is important they are considered by a financial adviser as well when preparing a financial plan for his client. It is known that a universal investment alternative, which would be suitable for every individual at any time and any situation, does not exist. Also, financial advising is not to be only a one-time visit at a client any merely a sell of a certain alternative, since it is known that only the changes are a constant in individual’s life. Changes that importantly influence the fact that a financial plan must also be changed may be personal or external. So a good financial adviser varies from just a seller of investment alternatives also by the fact that he will regularly accompany his client and examine his financial plans, alter them if necessary and adjust them to new situations whether personal or external.
