Oba predloga, uvedbo vmesne izmene in krožečega farmacevta, farmacevti, zaposleni v Lekarnah Maribor, podpirajo; to smo preverili z anketo.

Title:Actual Workload of the Pharmacists and Optimisation of Work Process Organization in Maribor Pharmacies
Abstract:Because of the global financial crisis which has also affected Slovenia, public services ‒ including pharmacy services ‒ are forced to rationalize, i.e. reduce the number of their employees. Any optimization of work processes must therefore be carried out in a way that maintains the quality without creating additional stress and strain on the staff. This research has considered the actual workload of the pharmacists in the European Union and in Slovenia. Compared was the workload of the pharmacists working on duty in major cities across Slovenia. The research in particular focused on some of the Maribor Pharmacies’ units in which as a result of the monthly and daily monitoring of customers, a redistribution of employees was suggested allowing for equally effective work with less employees. Also recommended was a new way of absent pharmacist replacements between the units of the Maribor Pharmacies guaranteeing sufficient number of available staff in bigger units. A survey that was carried out showed that both recommendations, i.e. the introduction of an interim shift and of a pharmacist on the go, have been supported by the employees of the Maribor Pharmacies. Taking into account the findings of this research which have shown that the pharmacists in Slovenia have more workload than their colleagues in the European Union and the fact that they are the most accessible highly educated professional staff performing a number of services that are not covered by the insurance companies, any necessary rationalization needs to be implemented in a well-considered manner, as evidenced by the research.
