Abstract:Raziskava obravnava razvoj prototipne aplikacije za mobilno napravo iPhone.

Title:Integration of location-Based Services and Voice-To-Text Into a Business Process
Abstract:The research focuses on the development of a prototype mobile application for iPhone. The aim of the research was to develop an application that would enable the record-keeping of business trips by using advanced technologies, such as Global Positioning System and speech recognition. When analyzing the existing situation, it was discovered that work overload in a small company can lead to the neglect of the employees’ responsibilities. We conducted a research on whether the development of a smartphone application, its introduction and implementation into the business process could relieve the employees of some of their workload. The research was based on examining the possibilities of using the Global Positioning System and speech recognition as a hands-free alternative for data entry into the mobile application. Taking the results of the analysis of the existing situation into account, a system simulation model was created. The simulation with the Powersim tool revealed a long-term financial loss of the company as a result of the neglect of work responsibilities. The simulation therefore confirmed the need to introduce changes into the business process. The object-oriented programming language used for the development of the mobile application was Objective-C, the main programming language for iPhone applications. The application prototype was tested both in laboratory and real-life conditions. It was established that the developed application can only partly help to change and support the business process of keeping records of travel orders of an employee in a small company. Nevertheless, the results obtained from the research have helped to highlight the possibilities for the future development of the application towards providing support to business processes.
