Title:TEAMWORK AMONG HEALTHCARE WORKERS IN BOLNIŠNICA GOLNIK
Abstract:We are living in a time when technology has advanced so dramatically that a single person cannot possess all the knowledge necessary for successful functioning of an organisation. The domain of healthcare is no exception in this respect. Medicine is also developing rapidly. Methods of treatment are improving and so is healthcare management. Medical technology is at a stage when teamwork is almost crucial for successful business and treatment. It is safe to say that it is virtually impossible for an individual to achieve such a high level of quality than as part of a group. The first part of the master's thesis presents the theoretical basis of teamwork, including a description of how a group of individuals becomes a team, an outline of advantages and disadvantages of teamwork, a description of team leadership and factors influencing teamwork. The analytical part of the master's thesis involves an analysis of research data obtained from medical staff of the University Clinic Golnik. The results suggest that to doctors, teamwork is more important than to nurses. However, nurses and doctors are equally willing to accept both advice and criticism. Nurses also have trust in doctors. Based on research results we can conclude that there is still considerable potential for the development of teamwork in the organisation.
