Abstract:Diplomsko delo sestavljajo tri glavna poglavja – Mobilnost, Jezik in Medkulturnost.

Title:STUDENT MOBILITY AND LANGUAGE
Abstract:The diploma paper consists of three chapters – mobility, language and interculturalism. All parts are divided into smaller sub-chapters; all involve the same study material which is crucial for the interpretation of the results of the research which has been conducted. The empirical part presents the research conducted with Slovenian and foreign students and compares the results. These have shown that what drives the students for mobility is their curiosity to discover the world and people as well as the wish to learn and further develop their knowledge of foreign languages which is also in accordance with the study conducted by the international society Erasmus Student Network (here forth ESN) from Brussels, where the headquarters of this association, presented in the theoretical part, is located. While Slovenian students prefer to study foreign languages i.e. the language of the host country, foreign students prefer to study English further improve it although they start with English at a younger age than the Slovenian students, who have no problem with it. This has led us to conclude that media i.e. TV, films, series, radio, newspapers and other written sources have a positive influence on faster learning of foreign languages as Slovenian students say that they have learned most of the useful knowledge of English this way.
Keywords:Mobility, foreign language, interculturalism, international projects in primary schools, the influence of media on foreign language acquisition
